In a not-so-distant future, rising sea tides became a significant problem for humanity. Due to its geographical location, Italy was devastated by the encroaching waters. Scientists and engineers devised a temporary solution to protect the Po Valley from the rising sea levels, providing time to either evacuate or secure the valley's cities.

Near the coast of the Po Valley, a massive canal was constructed to evaporate large quantities of water in seconds, thanks to enormous machines known as "The Cloud Machines." Despite this effort, the force of nature was unstoppable, and the entire valley was lost, resulting in hundreds of lives lost.

These machines still stand today and are used by survivors to navigate the area safely. They walk alongside the canal and climb the engines whenever the water rises.
