Medieval Foundry — Historically Accurate Cannon Foundry | Unreal Engine 5

This project started with a question: how were cannons actually made?
The answer took months of research into real 17th and 18th century foundry practices — and became the foundation for every single asset in this kit.
The Medieval Foundry is a fully realized cannon foundry complex for Unreal Engine 5, built around authentic historical manufacturing processes. Casting halls with sand pits and clay molds, boring workshops with hand-cranked drilling rigs, drying rooms lined with ceramic mold sections, open-air yards with hoisting cranes and cannon stacks — each space represents a specific stage of the real production process.
What's included:
352 static meshes — fully modular interior and exterior layout, Nanite-ready, pre-built map included. 51 materials, 218 material instances, 1465 textures at 2K (sourced at 4K).
I built this because I believe environments should have a logic. A functionality. A story rooted in reality — not in what looks good on screen, but in what was actually true.
Historical accuracy is the core of this project, and any feedback from historians, researchers, or fellow enthusiasts is genuinely welcome.
